How it works

Can I order by phone?
Yes. If you have questions about any of our design packages, or would rather place your order by phone, you may call us and speak with one of our representatives.

What do you need from me to design my ad?
There are two things we need from you to help us design the ideal brochure.

1) Tell us about your needs: We send you a short questionnaire designed to help us understand your needs.

2) Give us your honest feedback: We design up to 5 brochure concepts for your review. You pick the best one and give us your opinions and what changes you want. We keep revising it until it's just the way you like it . . . up to 10 times if necessary. Tell us exactly what you want us to do on each revision, even if you change your mind. You don't need to know fancy design terminology.

Feel free to ask us questions. We'll do the same. And we'll also give you our recommendations based on the many ads we have created for many different businesses.

How long will this take?
It depends on the ad package you have chosen. Typically, a ad order takes between 5 days. Flyers take less time. If you order our Folder Design Package along with your brochure package and some flyers for a complete marketing package, your project could take a little longer. We've seen design projects finish in as little as a few days to one week. Fortunately, you largely control how long your project takes by how quickly you review and give feedback about the designs we send you. (Normally, you see initial brochure designs within 5 business days.)

Who are your designers? Where do they come from?
We have exclusive access to thousands of top-rated graphic designers and creative directors. We attract talented professionals from all backgrounds. Ad-agency graphic designers. Life-long freelancers. Promising design students. From within the US and around the
world. This means you see a wide variety of great ideas no matter what style or taste you're interested in. You only work with designers who prove time after time they can make people like you happy.

How do I work with my ad designer?
You communicate with your designer anywhere you can access a computer. Or by phone.

Can I talk to someone for design advice?
Absolutely. You can ask your account manager or designer anytime for guidance, recommendations and assistance. We're here to help you.

What you'll get

What file formats do I get?

What are the advantages of a custom-designed ad from us?

Will a custom-designed ad help me attract new customers?
Whether you are mailing your brochure in a mass mailing or to a targeted audience, giving them out in trade show or displaying them at a fixed location, your first impression makes all the difference. The difference is real credibility associated with a custom-designed brochure that looks good. This level of professionalism assures your potential customers that you operate a serious business worthy
of their consideration.

Will a custom-designed ad help me out over my competitors?
Having a poorly made ad will not convey the message that your business is different, and is better than the competition. Stand out with a distinctive design and company image, including quality graphics, elegantly displayed in your brochure. This shows you are a professional with a passion for providing a great product or service. Successful companies market themselves with high quality
marketing materials, why shouldn’t you?

What other advantages can I expect with a custom-designed ad?

A quality brochure works in your favor, and may be the deciding factor in getting a potential to choose you. How will my design impact my price?

What are the options I have for a final product and the technical details associated with my design?
You have lots of options when you are trying to determine what type of brochure you need. Keep in mind that most of these options will add to the final print costs. Many should be defined before we begin the design.

Folds: Tri-fold, Bi-fold, fanfold – There are lots of ways to fold a brochure. What you are trying to say, or display, will probably dictate the size, shape, and function of the folds and pages. Keep in mind that more unique folds, pages, and sizes will cost you a little more at the printer.

Binding: Tri-fold and 8-page and 12-page brochures are typically scored and folded professionally by the printer. You may opt to get your 8- or 12-page brochure stapled (also called saddle-stich) for a small additional cost. Or you can go without staples.

Ink & Colors: Using just 1 or 2 colors is cheaper to print than full-color. While most prefer a full-color brochure to one with just a few colors – your designer can make something really unique with just a few colors – and save you some print costs. The price for designing a 2-color brochure is typically the same for a full-color brochure.

Die Cuts & Notches: You may wish to add small cuts or slits in order to incorporate business cards into your brochure, or wish to create a unique brochure shape using what is called Die Cutting. The printer makes a customized “die” or shape for your cut-out which they then use when they trim and fold your brochure. This is a great way to create a little something different in your brochure. A die
cut is typically an additional one-time cost (usually a few hundred dollars) that can be used again and again. This option is not typically available with digital or on-demand printing.

The Paper: Most brochures are printed on 60#, 70#, or 80# paper. These are also called “card stock” because they are thicker and stronger than traditional 8.5” x 11” paper (like you find in your printer or fax machine). The thicker paper will give your brochure some “heft” and help it to keep its shape. Your designer or your printer can help you by making paper recommendations based on your
design. Keep in mind that heavier (the bigger the #) paper stock will be a little more expensive. Using colored paper stock will also add an additional expense.

The “Bleed”: Using what is termed a “bleed” typically requires the printer to use paper slightly larger than your final brochure size.

This can lead to additional expense. A bleed is a design element where the color elements run to the very edge of your brochure. This option often looks more professional in your end product, but can be more expensive. If you are conscious about costs, be sure to request your designer avoid bleeds.

Special inks or varnishes: Many high-end marketing materials, such as brochures, folders or even stationery use special colors (such as metallics) and spot varnishes (a clear coat over design elements) to create a uniquely beautiful or distinct piece. These (such as metallics) and spot varnishes (a clear coat over design elements) to create a uniquely beautiful or distinct piece. These options are not available for on-demand or digital printing and will require you to use a traditional printer. Traditional printing is more expensive and is usually only ideal for large print runs of over 1000 units. These special techniques will be an additional cost.

The most popular choice for a design is standard tri-fold or bi-fold brochure. These are cost-effective in terms of printing and binding.

They are also easy for your customers to read and store for future reference.
